Private label items are a trend success abroad
With more attractive prices and sharp quality, products from the private label industry are increasingly gaining space abroad.
According to the IRI Private Label 2018 report, the slice for private label products has grown considerably in Europe, such as in the United Kingdom (52.5%), Spain (42.6%), and Germany (40.1%). In the United States, private label items account for 14.9% of the market.
The price of private label products is one of the benefits. Also according to the report, 83% of people who use the dollar as currency claim they buy these items to save money. And 76% of the interviewed buyers consider private label products as good as those from traditional brands.
When the consumer is from the millennium generation, the numbers are even better: 76% think the quality of the private label model is good, 73% think the price is better than the conventional brands, and 92% say they buy these private label items to save money.
Private label is the bet of Blue Macaw Flora abroad
Expanding the concept of healthy and 100%-natural food has always been one of Blue Macaw Flora’s goals, a company created in 2007 in the city of Mauá, in the region of Greater São Paulo.
In addition to developing inputs – fruit powders and powder extracts – for food and beverage, pharmacological, and cosmetic industries – Blue Macaw Flora has developed healthy snacks with fruit bits to meet the needs of the final public seeking to keep a natural diet.
Fruit bits are dehydrated apple pieces covered with a crunchy fruit powder with the flavors of acai, cupuacu, passion fruit, banana, lemon, and plum, in the traditional versions with organic sugar or without added sugar. There are also special editions with chia, 55% cocoa chocolate or cinnamon.
The product has 0% cholesterol, trans fat, gluten, and lactose, in addition to very low sodium content.
Whether in Brazil or abroad, in countries such as Canada, Germany, France, and the United States, fruit bits are sold in retail with the respective brands of their customers, that is, in the private label model.
In 2018, the fruit bits reached five American states: Alabama, California, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Ohio. The first container with 2,340 boxes of the product was shipped in packaging of the private label model at the company Native Berries request. This partnership reinforced Blue Macaw Flora’s access to the list of private label manufacturers.
For Brazilian final consumers, the product is also available for sale at the Frootiva online store.
