BMF strengthens its presence among private label manufacturers
The supply of fruit bits to a large US retail chain strengthens Blue Macaw Flora’s performance among the private label manufacturers in the international market.
More than 46 thousand units of fruit bits, which were packed in the private label model for the company Native Berries, will reach stores from the Big Lots retail chain in the states of Alabama, California, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Ohio.
The first container with 2,340 boxes of the product was dispatched 30 days ago at the Port of Santos. Once it arrives in Savannah, Georgia, they will be sent by trucks to the distribution centers of the five mentioned states.
This container of fruit snacks developed by Blue Macaw Flora will be marketed in the United States under the Native Barries’ brand. There are three different flavors: Acai Berry with Chia, Acai Berry, Passion Fruit and Chia, and also a special version of a mix of Acai Berry, Cupuacu, and Banana with Chia and Cinnamon, specially developed for the client.
Among the largest private label manufacturers
In addition to Native Berries, other clients in both the United States and Canada, Switzerland, Germany, France, Australia, Korea, and Norway already consider Blue Macaw Flora as a benchmark among the private label manufacturers, especially when it comes to natural ingredients that are typical from the Brazilian flora.
Specifically, in the private label model, Blue Macaw Flora develops fruit bits in various flavors to be marketed under the client’s brand name, both in Brazil and in the international market, such as the German brand NovaFroota, sold throughout Europe.
Blue Macaw Flora’s fruit bits are made from dehydrated apple topped with a crunchy layer of fruit. Today, flavors such as acai berry, cupuacu, passion fruit, banana, lemon, and plum are available in the portfolio, as well as versions with chia, cinnamon, or 55% cocoa chocolate.
One of the great appeals of the product is that the fruit bits made by Blue Macaw Flora are 100% natural, i.e. it contains no colorings, artificial flavors, or preservatives in its composition, besides being totally free of genetically modified organisms (OGM-free).
In compliance with Ministry of Health regulations, fruit bits have 0% cholesterol, trans fat, gluten, lactose and very low sodium content.
The Blue Macaw Flora’s bits can be consumed pure, or used as a combination for salads, ice creams, yogurts, and desserts in general.
In addition to snacks, fruit bits are used as an ingredient by the food industry in the composition of products such as cereal bars, cookies, granola, bread, cakes, and desserts.
Private label in broad growth
Concerned about putting products of reliable sources and healthier ingredients on the table, global consumers are increasingly willing to give up on traditional brands to meet others. And this opportunity has motivated the consumption of private label products.
In Brazil alone, according to a research performed by Nielsen Brasil in partnership with Kantar Worldpanel, the number of Brazilian households that have consumed any private label products reached 32.8 million in 2017. In other words, a growth of 68% since 2010.
In addition, Nielsen has shown that the growth of private labels is 40% higher than from other brands, in the comparison between 2015 and 2016.
Out of Brazil, according to the research website HIM, the number of consumers interested in private label products has grown from 6% in 2014 to almost a fifth of the population in 2017.
It is these numbers, allied to the concern of spreading the benefits of a healthy and natural food, which has led Blue Macaw Flora to embrace more diligently the task of delivering its products outside Brazil.
By placing its fruit bits on the shelves of large chains such as Big Lots, Blue Macaw Flora strengthens its know-how as a global supplier of natural ingredients and also enters the hall of the main private label manufacturers in Brazil.
Great partnership with Native Berries
With the same DNA of offering natural and healthy products, Blue Macaw Flora and Native Berries have strengthened their partnership and worked together to develop the Tropical Snack line.
Being a traditional supplier of acai berry pulp and sorbet, Native Berries expands its portfolio in the international market by launching the Tropical Snack.
In this project, one of the requirements is that the product should be totally free of any preservatives – an action that is taken by Blue Macaw Flora in its entire product line by the way.
Besides the ready-for-consumption fruit bits, Blue Macaw Flora also produces dry extracts and dehydrated fruit pulps, which is also known as powder fruit.
These ingredients are used in the food and beverage industry to produce juices, cakes, bread, and other food, and also in the supplement industry.

I bought this product (Native berries Tropical Snack Acai-Chia) and love it. I can not remember where I purchased it and am wanting more. I have checked several places/stores that I might have gotten it, with no luck, was just wondering where I could possibly get some more. I leave in a small town, Tompkinsville, Ky. I did not find it here. Just hoping you can help me find it, would love to purchase some more.
