Private label healthy snacks conquer the world

The cost to develop a product, to patent it, manufacture with quality and structure it to the market is quite high.

That’s the reason why many companies come to the private label healthy snacks model, which means, they hire a manufacturer to produce merchandise that will be traded with their brand.

Blue Macaw Flora is one example of companies that provide this model, with the granulated dehydrated fruits line, the Frootiva.

 

Big countries bet on the private label healthy snacks model

 

Clients from the United States, Switzerland and Germany are getting ready to launch healthy snack with their own labels overseas.

One of our most recent projects in this format was NovaFroota, company that acts in Europe.

With personalized packaging, this innovation was presented during the ISM fair, the biggest event of sweets and snacks in the world, held in Colony, Germany. Made with dehydrated apple, the snack from NovaFroota is fully manufactured in Brazil.

The client receives the final product, focusing only efforts on market structure, positioning, marketing, and sales, leaving on the manufacturer the responsibilities with production process and quality.

“This format has become more and more common in several sectors, including the food sector, since the cost to create a product, patent it, and put it on market is extremely high”, says Ana Tovazi, one of the directors of Blue Macaw Flora.

Another private label healthy snacks case is Native Berries. In early 2018, the traditional brand of acai pulp and sorbet has received more than 46,000 units of fruit bits developed by Blue Macaw Flora. The products arrived at the stores of the retail network Big Lots in the states of Alabama, California, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Ohio.

The product line called Tropical Snack has three different flavors: Acai with Chia, Acai, Passion Fruit and Chia, and also a special version of a mix of Acai, Cupuacu and Banana with Chia and Cinnamon, specially developed for the client.

private label healthy snacksIn the Private Label model, companies outsource up to 100% of their production process, since creation until manufacturing and packaging of their merchandise. Since each market has different particularities, the manufactures must observe the technical and quality demands of each client.

In the case of Blue Macaw Flora, whenever necessary, a team of experts takes an active role on each project, creating new flavors, adjusting the process to fit the demand and technical specifications of each country or region.

Besides NovaFroota and Native Berries, Blue Macaw Flora maintains partnerships with several companies in Brazil and overseas, acting also on the cooperation to develop new projects involving natural ingredients, especially products from the Brazilian flora.
